Advanced Reservoir Stimulation
Candidates:
Reservoir engineers who are investigating reservoir behaviour, optimizing reservoir performance and providing the basis for risk management.
Summary:
The participant will be trained in the methods and possible uses of reservoir simulators and will use simulation software for practical exercises throughout this course. Attendees should have a basic knowledge of reservoir simulation, upscaling and some experience in use of commercial reservoir simulators.
Contents:
- General purpose model formulation versus conventional formulations.
- General review of griddling techniques.
- Black oil simulation
- Compositional simulation.
- Modeling structural elements (e.g sloping faults, channels, etc..)
- Representing complex wells in reservoir model.
- Simulation of fractured reservoirs and transient well test.
- Model building procedure: from seismic to simulation.
- Development planning & reservoir forecasts.
