Petroleum Exploration Techniques


Candidates:

This course is designed for almost all the personnel working for an oil company including fresh graduates, junior geoscientists, and petroleum, drilling and production engineers, drillers, foremen, operators and technical assistant, admin staff working in the exploration department.

Summary:

The course is designed in workshop environment with a set of exercises covering all types of data that the geoscientists deal with on a daily basis including: logs, cores, seismic lines and surface outcrops analysis. The course emphasizes on the classification of sedimentary basins, the origin and chemical composition of petroleum, the source rock, the reservoirs (carbonates and clastics), the different types of traps (structural, stratigraphic and combination).
