Practical Petroleum Geology
Candidates:
Geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers who already have background on the petroleum geology and have at least two years of experience in exploring for oil & gas. Those who attended the basic petroleum geology course are perfect candidates for this course.
Summary:
The course is designed in a workshop environment with a set of exercises covering all types of data that the geoscientists deal with on a daily basis including: logs, core, seismic lines and surface outcrops analysis. The course emphasizes on the classification of sedimentary basins, the origin and chemical composition of petroleum, the source rock, the reservoirs (carbonate and clastics) the different types of traps (structural, stratigraphic and combination).
